Hi all,

Looking for advice to tie lead core line to leader. Also how much leader length on smaller Muskoka lakes?

Play with leader length: dependent on species, clarity, depth conditions. I will run 10' to 50' of leader. This can greatly effect the depth in which your bait runs at though. If need be i'll add more weight. When lakers are deep, 4 colours, 30' of leader, 3-way swivel 1-1.5oz (1-3' off bottom) bell sinker and 5' back from that on the 3-way is my bait. No problems hitting bottom in 80-90' of water. But not a high speed trolling rig. Very adaptable, more depth? More weight. My 4 colour setup is actually for trolling eyes. Works great for lakers though. Even without lead core the 3 way swivel rig is deadly. Make sure when you tie up you take the lead out of the line first.
