The old fella and I headed out to see if we could muster up any more slab crappie in the same spot I knocked off two approaching the two pound mark. Thank god the spot was not in the main bay as the north westerly was sending major white caps right into our path of travel. Fortunately for us the spot was totally out of the gale force wind and only a five minute ride from the launch. I put on my white tube jig with a pencil float and splitshot and was off and running. It didn't take very long and bang!! Our first crappie was on board, now I knew we were in the right location. I landed about a dozen crappies and a couple of largemouth before the old fella even got a bite, I thought he was going to knock me overboard. To his credit he did manage a 14" walleye and the largest crappie of the day a nice 1.40 pound lunker. At days end we managed to land about forty crappie of which 20 we kept for eating along with a couple of decent size largemouth.
Bummer of the day was me losing a largemouth athe boat in the five - six pound range, that sucked but the action was great today and the wind did not deter us. We will try again tomorrow!! Pics to follow. Good fishing my friends!!

Severn sound! Lol. Just luck right place at the right time using the proper techniques and baits. It has been great to get the crappies as it's been years in the area that you could find a decent school of them.

I have never really fished hard for crappie but everyone tells me they are super tasty! I should try abit harder in your neck of the woods! It would be nice to get out of pentang midland area and get away from all the boat traffic...maaaaaann it gets busy out there.

Yes it's a city of boat traffic up there so is honey harbor I rarely venture that far. Salmon move in our direction in a couple of weeks. I look forward to this migratory run. C u out there good luck man, hope ya get a good boat.
