Well done Zzz... and you're absolutely correct the bite is outstanding, no agruement.

Thanks Grumpa. Sounds like you are doing well also.

We're not hurting by any means Zzz.
The bite's been absolutely insane for a while...and there's plenty of big fish in the mix.
Can't get one off my wifes stick and released...before she grabs mine and has another one. She's murdering me.
20 fish in an hour between the 2 of us is pretty standard right now.

I think I figured out how they always do it. They keep us busy rigging their lines, baiting their hooks and netting their fish. All these distractions keep us from busy while they are pulling in the fish!

Lol....but wouldn't have it any other way Zzz.
Mrs. Grumpa's even telling me now where we should go to fish, how we're going to fish and the bait we should be using.
This is what happens when they start catching more fish.
I don't bother arguing any more.

I fish more with the GF than I do without. Every year I hear the same thing about the bugs "They've never been this bad!"

We were out once and trying to pick up a couple after the morning bite was long gone. it was late summer and the sun was at it's peak, or at least felt like it. I kinda thought we were more or less killing time. She started talking about how it was going to pick back up, as "There was a storm coming in" (there wasn't). I stopped her when she started talking about what type of clouds were in the sky and said "Hun, you're not a meteorologist".. that was apparently the wrong thing to say? lol

Met a fellow forum member on the lake today. A Shout out to Speerzy and his gang fishing the south shore. Heard him mention there hasn’t been much activity posted lately so I thought I would just throw this out there for interest sake. Bite seems to have slowed down a bit. I believe the walleye are transitioning to their summer haunts. With a little bit of searching they can still be found though. Tight lines Speerzy and best of luck to you and your gang.

Where can we drop our boat in the water in the south shore area, south of Deepwater Point?

ZzzAngler.

Bite's still good on the south shore and main lake basin Zzz...another nice fish by Mrs. Zzz by the way.
Our grandkids snagged these two keepers this morning. Kept the smallest keepers for them to have another taste treat...put the bigger ones back.
The bite's basically been very good with only small breaks, really, since the opener...and totally agree...fish are starting to set up more frequently on their summer spots now.
Still lots and lots of bigger fish to be had.

Nice to see the grandkids get into fishing. Keeps the tradition going. I look forward to the day I can take my grandson out but might be a while. He’s still too young and lives in B.C. But my day will definitely come.

Btw - Regarding Hydargos inquiry, I believe there is a boat launch at the very west end of Birchgrove rd where people put in their ice shacks.

I've been out once this year, about two weeks ago. There were boats fishing in and around the islands in Callander Bay but few fish being caught. By now they've probably migrated out of the bay. You can give it a shot, but I'd wager the fish are now closer to the main basin, if not mostly in the main basin.

I haven’t fished in Callander Bay yet this year so I can’t offer much advice there. We’ve had all our success just fishing various humps along the South shore. They were pretty shallow but now seem be setting up a bit deeper. Been keeping it pretty simple using just a jig and a worm, mostly pink. Have also had success with one other ‘secret weapon’ which I’m not quite ready yet to divulge. Still experimenting 😎.
Let us know how you make out.
