Anybody use this line ? -apparently professional grade-I bought a spool of 10 lb test and it has the worst memory i have ever seen. Every cast is a tangle and you cant remove the twist by trolling the line behind the boat . I think i trolled the line farther trying to remove the twist than have used it trolling with a lure. Extremely frustrated for a premium cost. This is my first spool of fluoro i usually use power pro but it seems in tight supply. In any case no more Berkley Line products for me its unfishable. Anybody else with a similar experience?. Is all fluoro like this?

i use the 15lb version of this line as a leader material. its pretty strong and i rarely break off. cant speak to line twist so much as i never run more than a few feet of it.

i dont have luck running a full spool of fluoro. i think youd find similar twist with most brands you try. some people like it for jerkbaits and crankbaits but i always found same as you- the line twist is insane and super easy to backlash. I have also found smaller pound test more difficult to deal with, both braid and fluro. i try and fish the biggest diameter i can get away with.

as an alternative id recomend seaguar invisx. really like this stuff also, but again mostly use it as a leader.

Isn't fluorocarbon supposed to be used as a leader? I didn't think it was designed to spool an entire reel.

I personally like Berkley lines and I don't usually have a problem just stay away from that high vis weird blue color and stick to clear.

Tip: Black marker on the last 12" put a few patch's on the line, not the whole 12" but a few places to break it up. On bright days it really helps disrupt the reflection of the line.

Sorry to hear that Woodenstiks, but thanks for sharing.
Like jstrooms, I've only ever used flouro for leader material...been loving it for my muskie rigs for some time now.
So can't speak to using it as the primary line on any of my bass or pickerel rigs.
Haven't used a lot of Berkley products over the years.
Depending on whether you had in store clerical input on the purchase and where you bought it...maybe try returning the spool?
I once asked advice at Bass Pro on fly line for my fly fishing pole...made a purchase based on the advice I was given. Wasn't the right line weight I needed...took it back to Bass Pro and they gave me an in-store credit to purchase a more appropriate product for my needs.
The store was very reasonable and professional about the return.

Yeah thats pretty much the same conclusion i came to - good for leader material -Ties a nice knot but the twist on this line was worse than any standard Mono i ever used. Oh well live and learn. I bought it at a local gas station that has a fine fishing tackle inventory in Noelville- trying to limit my trips to the big smoke- And right now im down to the last 25 yards due to all the splicing- so it looks like my loss but hey no more full reels of fluoro for me...

Thanks for the input all....

Ive never had luck with spooling an entire spool with flouro. Too much memory. Power Pro with a 3 foot flouro leader.👍

It’s funny you guys mention this, because that’s what’s on about 75% of my rods these days. The only fluoro I use now is Berkley 100% fluorocarbon, so much so that I have a couple big 2000 yd spools of 8lb and 20lb, which are the most used sizes for me. I also use 12 and 15lb on a few rods as well. Guess it depends on the type of reels as well as the amount of experience using it that helps maybe. One tip I could add is to get some KVD line conditioner, and give each spool a few sprays the night before you go out, it does help a fair bit with line memory and makes it cast a bit smoother.
