Hi Guys. Looking for some advice. Hoping to really get into trolling for wallys this year. Using standard rod holders. Any suggestions on rod reel combos?
Getting antsy! Is it May yet?

I use a okuma Coldwater series reel. Amazon has them dirt cheap, I use them for salmon but my first one I got was one size to small, it still works but would be great for walleye. 203 size

I'll 2nd the coldwater, solid reel and amazon always has a deal. If you are strictly going walleye, the 15 size should do you just fine, and on sale right now: https://www.amazon.ca/Okuma-Water-Linecount...14366599&sr=8-4

I got some 20's last month for under $120, great deal. 30's are your best bet for salmon, I've got them on sale for $140ish on amazon as well, just keep your eyes peeled, prices change overnight it seems.

definitely okuma for trolling, if youre specifically going for walleyes check out the convector low profile. Has a thumb switch for bottom bouncing so you can easily let out more line. I picked one up last year because i love the conventional style convectors (which are also great and budget friendly) and I really like it.

yep, can't go wrong with the Okumas......been running convecters for years and very reliable

If anything ever goes it's usually the clickers first and not hard to fix .............................got 30 of them in the 20 and 30 sizes
