I would’ve loved to “brave the heat” today in the boat, but I had to lay stone on a wall all day instead
The breeze off the bay was nicer at least today, always gotta look on the bright side.

I hear ya. I have always enjoyed being outside in the heat and humidity (born in New Orleans), but as I get older I've come to realize that I can't function for long in it. I'll enjoy it for short periods, but to sit in a boat for 8 hours.....not exactly my strongest desire!!

I've been out a couple times this week, bought a neck gaiter to keep the sun off, had a hard time finding one because everybody is using them for covid. I caught a few little Smallies on Sunday and a couple little Smallies and a big bluegill today. I lost 2 nice Smallies and a Pike on Sunday and something really big that I didn't get a look at today, possibly a Muskie since it broke my 50lb braid. My buddy managed a couple in the 2-3lb range on both days. All the decent bass were deeper and caught on tube jigs and drop shots.

Nope. Too hot for us. Even with the bimini top we start to burn fast.

When it's 26 degees at 5 am and calling for 34-35 I tend to stay home now beside my ac and have a beer

I also invested in Netflix some time ago

That's funny all my guys were crying about how hot it was building trusses and the framers wouldn't be putting them up in this heat. Long story short they all got a freeze, not saying I'm the best boss but top 5 for sure.

Did exactly the same thing as Longshank. In this heat, I found Netflix & a beer in this heat works best.
As Goshawk said...it can be dangerous too. Heat stroke is serious, no fun at all.

The one time I did go out in this 34C-35C heat, 3 times during the day I literally put the rod down and jumped overboard to stay somewhat comfortable. (a definite advantage of fishing in 20'+ water in hot weather)
While it felt great 'jumping in' to cool off, I found it did disrupt my overall fishing concentration. That must have been it as I was skunked again....lol.

Stay cool,

Cheers,
