Hello fellow anglers, just woundering if any of you float river anglers have been fishing the river yet. I usually fish the credit river from 403 down to the mouth and usually star around September. With weather has been scorching Hot lately are there any trout in the river. Any info would be great stay safe everyone...

was out with the fly rod a few nights recently on the lower stretches u mention...nothing to report as far as salmon/trout to drift for but surprisingly good smallie action ....water is low and warm but the upside is no fishing pressure just kayaks.... up around headwaters (also on the fly, check ur regs) some decent residents when conditions are right.

With current temps in the Credit no one should be targeting trout or salmon unless they are not releasing them at all. The mortality rate for these fish in the high temps is horrible.

good point for sure Disco.... general rule for myself and my fishing partner is we don't even pursue migrating fish in most southern ontario systems until October at the earliest for multiple reasons, that being one of them... Could always target early staging fish off the piers in the near future if the itch has already started..... that said, i quote the old timer i learned from as a little kid when i asked him about all the gutted fish and garbage i saw.... "when the salmon start to run, all the loogans start to come"
