Satisfying morning

After an aborted attempt to get out yesterday (forgot the boat keys on the trailer hitch and drove off....found them later), I made it all the way to the ramp this time. I spent about 3 hours at one of my favorite fishing holes in the Kawarthas and ended up 7 out of 10. Landed some decent sized smallies (one a bit over 4lb) and the 3 lost all jumped off close to the boat. All but 2 were on topwater poppers!

By the way, I didn't realize that I forgot the keys until I had driven from Markham to Brooklin. Turned around and came home scanning the highway all the way. Found them in the middle of the street around the corner from the house. Parked the truck/boat and went inside.

Nice smallie. At least you got your keys back. I did that with my wallet once at a gas station. Sat it on the tonneau cover and forgot, it had $800 in it too. Luckily, it was the same thing, found it on the street after the first turn, laying wide open with all the cash and cards still in it

I was sweating bullets all the way back home on Thursday because I only have one key for the boat's ignition. A second key has been ordered!!

Re:Keys, been there, done that, and recently unfortunately.
Went from Mississauga to Ajax, then realized I had neither boat keys or tackle boxes. Had a feeling of stupidity and frustration at the same time.

Forgot my boat keys once as well, arrived at the lake, put the boat in the water and yup, can't start it.. Ending up using the minnkota all day and fishing close to the ramp. Didn't catch much, that day...
