First time heading there next week and was hoping to target some brookies on the fly if possible. Am camping in the park but don't mind a drive if the river isn't a good choice...
If anyone's familiar with the area and cares to offer some insight i'd appreciate it or you can PM me.
Thanks all.

maitlandman, I had an 80 acre farm just outside of Englehart, a place called Tomstown on the Blanche. Most my fishing was on the Blanche and with in the LarderLake waterway. I never fished for brookies but rumor had it Crystal Lake had some in it. Many great memories in that area and KapKigIwan has one of the best waterfalls around. Fish at the bottom for gooneys/mooneyes just for fun. Sorry Bud know nothing about Brookies

Thanks for the feedback guys, leaving middle of the night and thought I was heading for 0-400.

RHYBAK - Yes I'm a regular user of fish online when pre planning for areas I've not fished before and have checked it out... unfortunately my fishing partner has the drift boat right now so not taking my truck (gas cheap in wifeys ride) - no forestry roads either.. I guess my options are now limited to shorefishing/walk and wades by the looks of things.

mydogbites - Im looking in detail at maps this morning and have some potential access points to investigate based on your suggestions so thank you very much.
Looks like this trip will be more aimed at hiking/exploring/relaxing in what looks to be an incredible part of the province that we've never ventured to before. Sometimes these kind are just as memorable-looking forward to the waterfalls and trails, any incidental fish will be a bonus.

I don't comment much on the site in summer/deep winter because I don't ice fish plus sold my downrigging boat earlier this year and now during summer mainly fly fish for bass/pike which there's not alot of discussion about so its totally understandable if some may be hesitant to offer up info if it appears like I'm just mining.

That said, I do try to comment whenever I am familiar with a place/topic and have some knowledge that could benefit another contributing member...I am a Huron/Gbay steelhead junkie and pretty dialed in with it so if that style of fishing interests you and I can be of any help throughout the fall/winter/spring please feel free to PM me.
Thx again,
MM

I used to live in the area. Kap Kig Iwan isn't really a fishing destination, and very unlikely you'll find trout. Even in the surrounding area, most trout lakes are stocked, and fished hard through the ice. There small numbers of small native brookies in some small streams nearby, but I wouldn't want to draw attention to them.
