We got away again to enjoy a week of R&R nd it was great.. The weather was all over the map with quite low temps as well as some high or normal days.

Winds constantly switched and we had 2 days of some epic rain come down

Got out a few times for some bass and am still focused on learning more about sight fishing when the winds cooperate....AS usuall , certain evenings were great with top waters and mornings were good for using finese plastic presentations

Tried for lakers for about 5 hours total time and they were not on for me this time

Was a great time with some company during the week and can't wait to get back for the fall fishing

All in all, just a great time again with lots of decent bass as well as a great rock bass dinner

The worst day was when we were checking out a location to cut a tree for firewood and stepped on a ground wasp nest. I got nailed 8 times and my wife got 5 nasty stings right through our clothes..

I will be eradicating that nest on the next trip when it's colder

Sounds like a great time other than the wasps.

Kill them at night as the can navigate/fly well at night.

I love these posts from you. Fish all the time on the Great Lakes, then when you go to the cottage, fish constantly the whole time there as well
That is exactly the same way I’d be if I was in your shoes

We had a ground wasp nest at our place. My wife found it with the lawn mower and got stung a couple times. That night it was gas down the hole and a light from a bbq lighter. Problem solved.
I just replaced some siding on my place and found maybe 100 dead ones in the groves of the siding. Glad they were dead.

Nice place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature!
