Hey all,
Thought I’d ask on here to see how late into the fall everyone continues fishing for bass in the Kawarthas?
I have had mixed results fishing in the fall on the Kawartha lakes from my kayak. More often than not low numbers punctuated by the occasional large fish unless I can find a concentration of feeding fish... Lots of moving around and I often struggle to find baits they seem to want.
Curious to hear others opinions.
Thanks Scott
I usually start fishing after dinner and fish all night. In the spring and fall I start much earlier and still fish through the night. In the fall I fish for big bass, big walleye and monster crappie. They are still out there. I fish until there is ice on the end of my rod and my line freezes up...dip it in the water and keep fishing. When the reel freezes up, I pull out a dry pole and keep fishing. When there is a thin layer of ice on the lake I wait until the morning sun melts it and keep fishing. When I fish with my friend John and we get tooooo cooooold we keep fishing. THE FISH ARE ALWAYS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE>>>>KEEP FISHING
Holy crap....you are hard core!!!!
Hey...we are only on the planet for 80 to 100 years if we are lucky. I am one of those people that wishes to live forever...I have a lot of stuff to do and who knows if I will get it all done. Everyday should be an adventure for everyone and fun or what ever word you want to use. Even if you are doing nothing at all...MAKE SURE YOU ENJOY IT...... DO OR DO NOT....THERE IS NO TRY......"YODA"

I feel I'd be like you if I got divorced and the wife took the kids to Europe or something. I try to fish when I can, in fact pretty much all my vacation time has some sort of fishing tied into it.

Yes I only get up to balsam and sturgeon average one a month from april until november. I might get lucky and find time for twice in sept oct and nov but when I do get up there well it is fish until I am too tired to fish anymore. Then I get some sleep and start over. I think all of us in the fishing community wish we had more time to fish. Someday I will retire and get up there three times a month. Good luck stay safe.

I fish until the first time I get skunked and come back with nothing but cold hands. Its easy to make the decision at that point.
If I can give anyone new to fall Bass fishing advice. If you find one... don't move. You're in the right area
I'm with you on this one Matt. As long as I can keep catching fish and still feel my fingers and toes at the end of the day, I'll still be on the water. When the fish are coming few and far between, it's time to winterize, store the battery and cover for the winter.
Good advice, also confirms my experience. I fish until the ramp is iced out and I cannot launch my boat. You have to be dressed warmer than for ice fishing sometimes as in the boat you cannot move around much and warm up. I normally fish for pike and walleye in late fall but fish is definitely moving to it's winter grounds and is becoming less active so finding it and presenting the right bait is definitely a challenge.
