A great report on a great area to fish. The Michipicoten is one of my favourite rivers to fish. A 15-16lb Chinnook is a very large speciman up that way. Congrats! I don't know if is just me but I find many of the salmon give a better account of themselves for their size than southern ontario fish. I have also caught a lake trout and a walleye in the river as well. I was also told the Pike and Muskie enter the river near the mouth. A terrific area and I will bet it won't be your last time visiting there.
PS I have run into many black bears on both sides of the river near that dam - especially when the salmon are running.
