Well the best weather I have ever seen in november at balsam and sturgeon. First two days I fished in minus 1 but the next seven days was amazing even stayed an extra day. Fished 117 hours roughly, day and night. Saw lots of wild life...a moose, mink, loons, coyotes, two beavers, muskrats, otters, no bear this time. I caught a seagull with a crank bait...when it hit the water the bird came down and got it. After ten minutes of gentle retrieve and minor hook surgery he flew away in perfect shape. Now as for fishing, I did catch lots of fish mostly at night...muskies walleye crappie bass but they were too small or to big the walleye that is. I only kept one fish out of all those hours fishing. So it was my worst fishing trip ever, but also the best because my friends and I did not freeze like we usually do. I do not fish for musky but I always seem to catch them in the fall fishing for crappie and walleye at night. First one was at 9.45pm destroyed my leader but did not loose my favorite crank bait...put on new leader and on the very next cast I got another one or maybe the same one did not see it. Had to replace that leader as well then I switched to the bobber and crappie baits. I do wish I could have put more fish in the in laws freezer but that is the way it goes sometimes. Still lots of fall fishing left for me...just need my luck to change a bit. Here is a couple of pictures the really dark picture is the beaver at night. He is always swimming back and forth but never disturbs the fish. Stay safe eveyone.

Agree with Mamona. I fished two days two different lakes in total around 10 hours trying to find crappie, eyes or pike, but only caught perch on one lake. Comparing to your 117 hours and rather fishing the spots that usually work for you it gives me some hope that I may not suck that much at it.

Great comments from you guys. And nobody sucks at fishing totally...it is called getting lucky. One day out of those eight I fished 18 hours straight and caught one small baby bass...and the day I caught the seagull that was it until it got dark...fishing is I would say 90% luck. The real skill is after you get a hit...setting the hook and getting the fish in without losing it. That is how I rate skill. But do not forget to enjoy your fishing...good weather, bad weather, lots of fish or no fish. A day of fishing is what we look forward to...no matter what. I count work days as how many more days until I can get back out in Gods country.
