Picked up 5 this morning. I have one already but it's a few seasons old so a spare cant hurt and 4 are going to my friends who put their gas augers up for sale last season when they tried my auger set up.

Or turn around selling them for a profit. Just kidding:-)
Anyone know what the regular price on these is? How great of a deal is this?
I believe the regular price right now for this adapter plate is usually around $139. And sometime you'd find on-sale at around $80 which is really really a GREAT deal (in m book:-)

You guys seem knowledgeable about these....
What size drill is best? 19.2 or hammer drill Will it cut through 3 feet of Nipissing ice in Feb?
Thx in advance
I use a Milwaukee Fuel M18 Hammer Drill (but DON'T use it in hammer mode). The drill has more than enough torque.
How many holes you will get depends on the batteries. Skimp on them and you will be disappointed. Get the HIGH DEMAND or XC (Extreme Conditions) batteries, and get at least 5.0ah (the 9.0ah even better).
I sold my gas auger. There are times when it was better (36 inches or a long trip with no way to recharge), but it got used so rarely it wasn't worth keeping.

Last year I bought an 8” auger after catching my first whitefish and struggled to get it through the hole from my 6” auger. I could not believe the difference going from the 6”-8” on just my drill...it was a real chore to pound out those holes. I was just wondering, does it make that much difference with the clam conversion kit?
