Lots of snow coming and moderate winter forecasts. Any ice will most likely be unsafe for a while. There's guys fishing 2.5 hrs from Toronto but I'm not willing to share where. 3-4" of ice. That was earlier this week... With the temps yesterday and today I wouldn't be out for another 2 weeks.

Weslemkoon has been frozen over for awhile now, not sure how thick, the temps have been dropping to around minus 10 at night and daytime temps have been staying just below zero.

Looks like we're dodging a bullet with the warm spell over the last few days, hopefully the lakes will be ice-free in time for the 20+ cm of snow tomorrow, and then consistent cold temperatures afterwards should freeze them up pretty nicely. According to the ice charts that someone posted on the lake simcoe forum there should be about 6 inches of ice in the Barry's Bay area by friday (when I'm heading up there), provided that the weather forecast is right. Fingers crossed.

Hate to break it to ya but Barry’s bay is getting a ton of snow currently with rain/freezing rain mixed in as well as next to nothing on the lakes.. I wouldn’t bet on 6” next week.

Idk man, hopefully there's no ice on the lakes right now, while it's snowing, and then monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday (what have I done?) are mostly in the -10 to -15 range all day, with next to no snow predicted for those days, and according to the charts I could find online this should produce safe ice by Friday. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, I guess we'll just have to see.

Fingers crossed, I’m in parry sound right now and the lakes wide open but Bancroft area has had a skim and got that snow yesterday. Same with the bay added with rain in the mix..

Heading out in the morning to check some lakes. 5 straight-25 nights looking good so far. I'll update tomorrow afternoon. Also paudash was pretty much completely covered this afternoon.
