I used a Vexilar FL20 for years and really enjoyed it, especially on the pan fish. Eventually I picked up a Helix 5, Once I learned to dial it in and read it properly, there is no way I will ever go back to a flasher. Having history and reading the marks on sonar made it a lot easier for me to control my cadence and retrieve. Real game changer. I also agree with jerkbaiter, the screen on the Helix 5 is more than enough for an ice shanty, portable light weight and doesn't burn through batteries.
