Hi Folks,

It's been a long time since I wrote up a report. Sorry, the reason has mostly been that I haven't been able to go fishing and then when I could - I have been plagued by an injury to my thumb.. Suffering from trigger-finger and it hurts when my thumb bends. Anyway in Sept and Oct it was at it worst and was in a brace, I tried to go steelheading in mid to late Oct, and had three nice steelhead on, but with the brace I found it hard to control these scrappy fish and lost all three, so no pics (sorry). At this point I decided to forget it, -- what was the point of all the leg work to achieve the famous bobber drop and I couldn't complete the task.. So I waited another month and tried a few times in mid and late November. Hand was healed some and this time i was able to fight the fish properly and landed a few nice fall chromers. Even a nice buck 10 - 12 lbs.. I haven't gone out in Dec due to re-aggravating my thumb, I don't blame the fishing trips LOL.. I tried to work on my basement and the hammer drilling in the concrete wasn't a good idea, I guess.. O well. Braced up again and will wait for ice fishing..

Best baits this fall were, roe in peach sacs, beads and pinkie worms.

Here's the biggest of fall 2020 (10 - 12 lb buck)

Nice fish Jerry....ouch on there trigger finger ....I have one finger on each hand that I sometimes have to painfully pry open. I finally went to dr. a couple of weeks ago and he suggested that I wear a aluminium splint at night to keep them straight to stretch that tendon back out that shortens when inflamed.....it seems like it has been better since I have done that and it is a cheap painless solution.....try it and I hope it works for you.

Arnie

Thanks Arnie..

Yes, the same thing happens to me, some nights the thumb bends and I can't unbend it in the morning, hurts like he!!... I have to run hot water over it to straighten it..

I am wearing a brace with steel splint in it all night to keep it straight. Kind of getting better, but I was told this is going to take a long time to heal. I also do hot compress some evenings and wear the brace during the day sometimes as well..

O well, stuff happens..

Like some have mentioned, I thank the fishing gods for the good fortune and allowing me to hook-up during these outings..

Cheers buddy & take care!
