Just punched a quick hole along the shore in the pleasant point area. Frozen across the lake. Hole is in shallow water but 3-4 inches. Hoping it gets colder.

thank you pleasantpointjig your info appreciated, yesterday I tried my luck in small lake first time these year, the feelings were unbelievable, ice was around 4 to 6 inches, and it was success, just my 2 cents please check ice before you step on it

Drilled a few holes yesterday in 8 FOW ice was 4 inches or so. Still not even close to safe especially with all the rain today. Might be starting from square one tomorrow. Did get skating with the kids for a couple days though.

I first take this video cause I was surprised. I then go out to my hole and the guy comes back over and asks me how thick the ice is as I’m yelling at him to get out of here.
