Are you allowed to ice fish Stoney for pan fish, perch, crappie, sunfish?

I have heard conflicting reports and I know you can't target any game fish but just want to go out for trip for some small stuff with the kids...catch and release

Thanks

Yes, panfish are open for ice fishing on Stoney.
This has been in effect since 2010 although I still find some people that think it's still not allowed. There is a couple of sanctuaries in the Burleigh Falls area but other than that the rest of the lake is open for panfish all year round.

Good luck

Stoney Lake (45°48′N., 79°08′W.) – Paxton Township

Live fish may not be used as bait or possessed for use as bait
Fish sanctuary - no fishing from January 1 to Friday before fourth Saturday in April

I don't see any other exceptions?

Maybe its just part of the lake?

I was referring to Stoney Lake in Zone 17.
Some people spell it Stony including MNR apparently.
It's an ongoing friendly disagreement around the lake about the spelling.
For entertainment here is the link to the cottagers association. (Notice the spelling)

I assumed this was the lake in question.

So have we answered 2cold’s original question? If the lake in question is the the Stoney in TJ’s response then there is No Fishing regardless if C&R intention.
