Before lockdown, Steve and I decided to hit the river for one last outing ....nice day of plus 7 degrees and a super busy ramp. we got there late and launched at around 10 am and ran down to our first drift that had almost no boat traffic..
Flipped our stuff in and after my first tick I yelled "fish on" and he says really? I was just messing around but had a solit hit within 10 seconds and a nice eater bow for our start of the day
Few minutes later comes fish number 2, another wild fighting eater.. we go YA!!
Then Steve hooks up with a good one
The next 2 hours saw multi hookups and then I got a little tap and say, it's just another small guy, but it starts digging and digging, so we figure a lake trout. wrong..a beauty /Brown with a quick photo and an easy release
From there things start going south as we finish a drift and get a no engine start and 40 minutes later we finally got it going again and decide to leave it running.........did not affect fishing as next drift..wham!..
Running back up to top of drift Steve's floater coat gets blown out of the boat.....we go back and get it and head back up only for me to have my hat blow off........hahahah, good thing I always bring 2
Then we start getting snags and I say, ya know what it's been a great day and the fish gods are telling us something
We packed it in and headed for home. stiff , sore and cold, but it was all so worth it
