So I'll start by saying. GO OUT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Ok now we got that out of the way So I went out on a smaller lake near couchiching today and it was still a little sketchy. I didn't even go all the way to the middle of the lake because the shoreline was consistantly 5 inches and then it got to three inches (not ALL black ice) and I didn't go passed that. Anyway no one take this info and think chouchiching is good to go or anything, but the smaller lakes are almost all looking solid at this point, which is good as I can ask considering the early season we've had. As far as fishing goes, I saw one walleye on the Aqua vu and hooked a couple of dinky perch.
Stay safe everyone, this is a positive report but there is plenty freezing to be done still. Tight lines, Donny.

Was out today on Balsam. 100’ off shore in about 8’ of water. 6” of ice. Solid but not perfect black ice by any means. Saw a snowmobile go across west bay and back. I would not head out any further myself. About 4” of snow on the lake.
