Using nightcrawlers for walleyes?

Hello, never fished at Nipissing before, kinda excited.

I am thinking of bringing worms rather than minnows for walleye. Anyone tried that?

I fish with worms and a spinner post spawn in spring for walleyes and they bite... figured it will work the same and save some coin on the minnows.

I've never tried it myself but I hear worms don't move very much in freezing cold water. That being said I'm sure they would still be tasty to the fish.

Tried them through the ice for rainbows.. they didn't touch the worms, would take a jigged artificial over it every time.
I've have not really ever heard of anyone being successful through the ice with crawlers...

If you want to save coin on minnows, get pinheads. More bang for your buck for sure... and I know those work.

Worms don't work on Nipissing in the winter.

I caught a few Walleye using a 5mm tungsten jig and a chunk of night crawler on opener. Was trying to conserve my minnows. Worked for me.

Yes we do as long as you keep them off the beds, clean up dog hair inside condos and pick up all dog poop outside. Guess should of hit quote
