Howdy. I have a 16ft aluminum crestliner. Redoing the floor. Can’t decide between vinyl or carpet? Cannot decide! I love the look of carpet but would love to hose off after a blood bath! May do a combo. Casting deck carpet and vinyl in main sitting area? I keep flip flopping. What do y’all think?

I had carpet in my last boat and vinyl in my new one. Every single person who's been in my boat and has a boat now wishes that went full vinyl. It's easier to clean, you don't have to worry about it getting wet, and it stays slip free. I'm glad I went this way.

I remember when I had to pay extra for vinyl in a Lund Boat, Vinyl is the only way to go and kept the boat cleaner but the floor does get hotter in the sun, I bring a towel for my dog to lay on

Vinyl for sure! I had carpet in my Springbok and had to replace the floor as well as the flooring. I believe that carpet keeps the moisture in longer. The vinyl is a lot easier to keep clean as well. My experience! Not to push a product but I used Duradek on mine?

I have vinyl in n the cockpit area on my Crestliner and I love it. Never slip, never stays dirty as it’s so easy to clean. Yes it can be really hot. My decks are carpet.

My 16ft Legend is carpeted. At the back of the boat where we lift fish into the boat, I have a piece of vinyl that sits on top of the carpet and is 3 ft wide and the full width of the boat.
Works well and easy to wipe down after a fish is brought onto it.

My experience with carpet was with a pontoon boat, Never! Never! Never! again. Looks good, nice to walk on. BUT took forever to dry after rain, even if I tilted it so the water would run off. Some areas were starting to grow black mold and moss around seat and console mounts. This was original carpet from the manufacturer. Next pontoon if I get one will be vinyl flooring.
