I know he wanted his few minutes of fame, but he should have known what the feedback would have been if this was posted in the local paper. People are pee'd off because this virus has affected their lives and liberties. I get it and its affected me and my family, but I would have declined the story. Because of this, Dougie will see the story and the local backlash and will be pressured to make more changes that may affect our ability to go ice fishing. This will be a big loss for all us fisherman. Btw, i dont think people coming up to Nipissing and fishing is the problem of the spread. There are semi-trucks going through North Bay every minute, some stopping for Gas, food, washrooms. Most of the truckers are from the GTA. They've never brought Covid with them, have they? Also people from North bay don't travel south to the GTA? Just sayin......

King Salmon your right on the money... When we stayed at the Glen Garry for the opening we drove up at 3 am from niagara area and the cars coming from the north to toronto was nonstop. Its hard to believe were in a lockdown when you drive anywhere the traffic hasnt changed this time at all. Its crazy, we just stayed away from everyone we could, we wore masks and complied with all protocols. We had a great time catching some huge perch and a few smaller eyes that went back.

Too many questions left unanswered. Did they all drive up in the same car? If so they did break the law. Do Teofio and his father live in the same houshold? if not they broke the law unless the father live by himself. Did they all drive to and from the lake in the same vehicle?

Covid inst going away were going to have to live with it unfortunately
Have to agree with you on this. Even if everyone everywhere in Ontario locked down - no travel, curfews, etc. What happens after opening back up? No visitors from anywhere outside Ontario ever again? Quebec? BC? US? France? India? No vacations outside Ontario for Ontario residents ever again? It only takes one case to start everything back up. Here’s what Maclean’s put out back in March and if my math is good we’re no where near 50% infected...

I agree with the majority,,, covid is going to be around for a long while yet. I dont see this thing going away anytime in the near future.
Not to start with conspiracy theories but,, I think this was all planned or at least designed to control many things and it simply got out of control. (thats just my opinion).
Regardless, we all have to adjust to a new way of life and be extremely thoughtful of our elderly, sick and everyone else in general.
With regard to this burbot,,,, WOW what a great catch !! Im happy they let it go.
He got his moment of fame as mentioned,,, pictures, videos & bragging rights,, but in the end, he did a great thing by letting it swim another day.
Even better that he was able to share that experience with his dad !!
