Hi Can anyone please tell me if the police are out and has there been a lot of fines handed out?

Thank you.

There was a fine issued on Wasi the weekend of the 9th/10th for over 10 people from different households a the hut. This was before the stay at home order went into effect ( it's now 5 people outdoors). Wasi being a smaller lake does not see the police presence anywhere near what is seen on Nipissing but this year is different, every lake is being watched. I would guess people outside the regulations on Nipissing would stand a really good chance on being caught.

judging by the lack of responses i'm guessing people are free to go on the ice and there isn't a problem with the authorities giving out fines?

you are correct. no fines- you are free to fish.

I have heard of them checking if people have been drinking. but this happens every year. no different than the norm.

OPP were patrolling last Thursday. Two of us fishing in the open. They wanted to see our licenses then went to talk to a noise making expansion chambered sledder for quite a while.

It seemed like there was a COVID undertone to their look around with us. All good we were distancing and travelled separately and are from NBay.

I'm almost sure, as long as your with less than five people your good to go. (obviously don't break the regs or be drinking too much but that's no different than usual lmao)

Are snowmobiles subject to exhaust modification fines for their sleds when they're not on any snowmobile trail and on the lake asking for a friend

This article seems to indicate that it is an offense under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act.
