James get yourself one of these, we got them for the kayaks and ours let you take calls text with out opening it. Taking photos you need to open it up.

can't believe you hooked your phone nice catch. It would have taken a huge quantity of rice to dry it out if it would stay at the bottom of simcoe.
He is Asian.... we all stocked minimum 200 lbs of rice. Edit: oops... misread. Yeah we don’t have enough rice to dry up Simcoe.
I must give you credit for fishing out the phone. That is not easy. At least it was the company work phone. Hopefully everything is backed up in the clouds. And yes you do keep the same number with any replacement.

There is only a hard plastic protective back cover with the phone. There is no lanyard. etc. There is literally nothing to get to hook to.
However, there is a small square hole on the cover on the left side of the phone (so as to push a button up/down to mute or un-mute the phone), and I finally managed to hook into the edge of this hole!!!:-)

I lost mine last spring in 38 degree water 10 feet deep when I flipped my kayak. Was some current and I was to cold to retrieve it, RIP little phone. Be happy you didn't go down the hole with your phone like I essentially did

Oh wow, is that why you hung up on me
glad you got it back
After a similar hut experience years ago, my phone stays in my bag, on my left on the bench!
I also have a case like Fisherman posted for insurance, but my main message is that I don't want to have my phone on when I go fishing if possible, except maybe for some pics later

Be careful with the moko bags. They work well but if you have any kind of heavier case the phone will not float (any of the larger phones that is, Iphone 8,10,11,12 in the larger size). We use the Moko cases but pull our normal case off before we use them. You won't need your normal protective case with the moko on.

Phone, sun glasses, pliers and loose tackle are always at the back of the bench. When using phone and pliers I always lean back as far away from the holes to prevent the big kerplup... Sucks but you will be more careful next time.. Or maybe the wife was going to call you and say time's up and you should come home lol and you did it on purpose..Lol..
