I’d avoid oro shore and bbp area over to georgina island. From around the 10th line of oro to the 6th then across to bbp and Friday harbour then further east to Georgina island was a big stretch of open water yesterday.

Was a reference to the morning after pill, also called plan b. Sorry for ruining the (inside) joke. But at least someone might have now learned something today and can call it a day and go home now. Tomorrow we will cover what poq means at how it might not be a substitute for a good plan B

Went with plan B. Hit a lake north of simco but little did I know there we about 12 inches of very fresh snow from the last few night's.. problems right from the beginning..my phone's Data was not working when I arrived at my launch site.. This was a problem because I could not accurately get to where I wanted to go and I couldn't see anything as it was dark when I arrived 6am.. Put the big boy paints on and off into the snowy wonderland I went. Well pulling the smitty sled on this adventure really really sucked a@_.. I finally got to where I wanted to try first..only marked a few dinks and nailed a 4 1/2 inch perch lol. Just got ready to take a pic and phone beeped , phone battery is dead , shutting off in 30 seconds. No problem I brought out a battery pack, ok problem I forgot the cord in the car.. Enough with that spot so I moved to what I thought was going to be 17ft, nope 9ft.Tried it for another hour and nothing so i moved to one last spot,I could see a mound of snow where I thought 20ft was so sucked it up and went walking again, it was 17ft..Fished this spot till about 4 with one Mark and landed a massive 8 inch pike..Knew I had to get going as I had a hard a@_ walk ahead of me and I was already beat. I've been very inactive for over a year due to a back injury and not to mention the 30 pounds of covid weight I've added. The walk back was horrible,I had walk 20 yards and rest. Got about half way back and had to sit for another rest..while sitting two snowmobiles go by me, one young guy and a older gent. The older gent looks me dead in the eye when going by slowly , he then immediately turns around and comes up to me and says you want a ride in, there is a God,,hell yah..Takes me right up to my van. If your reading this thank you thank you thank you.. I sat back to back and hung on to my sled. He had his helmet and I a face mask and a neck cover pulled over my face.. Loved the day but hated the smitty sled today.. Not my first outing this but definitely the hardest.. Got yelled at by the wife when I finally got my phone working but this is how I know she loves me.. Talked to a couple people where I parked and they had no luck, nothing at all.

Sounds like you had one of THOSE DAYS! lol Damn snow can really bugger up things that's for sure! At least you lucked out and got a tow back in.Those return trips at the end of the day with a foot of snow on top of the ice can be a killer.Good on you Dave for braving the elements.

At least you didn’t get skunked. A fish is a fish. I ask myself the same question each time I go....”why do I do this?” But like a gold fish... you easily forget and go again.
