Got out today for some perch and found the bite was pretty good. Started fishing at 8am in 15' and had fish below me after a few minutes but they were all pretty small so it was catch and release. I was using frozen minnows from my last trip. I made a move around 10am and got a chunky 11" on a slab grabber. They really turned on at 11am and had both rods going but wasn't fast enough to get the fish up and lost a least another 30 fish. They were all on the smaller side and only had maybe two bigger ones cruise by. Decided to make another move to see if I could get some bigger ones. I left the 25' holes and went to 35'. The perch didn't show up right away so used a rattle bait to try and call them in and they finally showed up. I had a group stick around a while but they weren't biting to hot. Then a bigger one came around but did not approach either line. It just hung around for a few minutes and then finally started paying attention to a minnow. I just kept shaking it and it came over and inhaled it. That was the biggest of the day at 12.5". I figured out why it just hung around, it spat up a 4" goby not quite digested. I actually had quite a few fish spit up shiners 2-3". The walk out was easy and the fish kept me busy until I left at 4pm.
