I was out today with my son at Sibbald and noticed the white fish were crazy spooky. I was in 40 feet and didn’t mark anything for 2 hrs so moved and decided to drop camera down to see what was going on. About a hr later 2 came in so I dropped my meegs to the bottom and as soon as it hit it took off like a rocket. A couple more just swam by with no interest, then as I was leaving and had packed my rods away one last one came by and when I told my son to come look at the screen he took one step in the snow and he took off like a built. Is this normal or a February thing?

I sort of noticed the same pattern as well.
In late January, they would actually try to take bites from my lure in front of the camera which was only 5 ft away from the lure.
The past few weeks, when I had the camera around, they would not swim as close. They were obviously not interested in the bait, or maybe just camera shy.

This was my experience on Friday, too many people fishing in the area and some loud mouth people that never shut up the whole time, the fish I did mark were just swimming by. Same spot for the 3 days before that I hooked 5 and landed 3 out of about only 10 good marks. Went from see a fish hook a fish kind of thing to not one fish even paying attention to the lure. That many other lures nearby and people on the ice will just turn them right negative. Especially in shallower water. Doesn’t bother me too much though, at least if you see fish you know they aren’t all gone and when they get negative at least you know everyone else isn’t catching them all either.
