Not too long now till the ice will be coming off hopefully. What’s everyone doing to get ready? Any winter projects to pass the time? New goals for the season? After this winter I’m sure we can all use something to look forward to on the horizon.

Ya I’m starting to get excited about getting back on the water too! I’ve been watching daily satellite pics to see the plumes in the bay from our rivers and guessing where the largest schools are! Also I’m YouTubing different salmon videos and techniques.

What are you using to find your satellite images?
Youtube has definitely got me wanting to try a million new things this season, too many new ideas and not enough rods.

Out for a drive yesterday from Thornbury to Southampton. Didn’t get a line in the water because the surf was huge but a good scouting outing. No ice in the Owen sound bay and a couple feet of ice and snow right on the launch pavement. With the warm weather coming it won’t take long to melt.

I like the excitement on this side! I put a similar post on the great lakes thread, I want to get more in tough with open water deep jigging for LT and may suybe salmon. But it will probably be on lake Ontario.

I’m a die hard ice fisherman but this season has me ready to sit back and wait for more of this. The wind and crappy ice this year is better than nothing but sitting back in the sun trolling sounds pretty nice right about now!!

1. Sorting out the the eye candy from the real producing lures and checking hooks. 2. Checking and or replacing line. 3. Cleaning, repairing rods and reels. 4. Cleaning snow off the boat. 5. Preparing wife for opening day! P.S. Don’t forget to check your rain coat pockets.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one itching to get out! I scratched the itch once in early January by tossing my kayak in but it just made it worse. Starting to plan out all the new projects I want to do to the boat before the season starts, hopefully some homemade planer boards and a mast to match by the time the boat is in. Then a million more things over the summer. It's stating to turn into a pretty expensive way to eat fish for free
