I was out today and the entire lake is glare ice with the odd patch of "snow" which is now hard and crusty and not deep at all.The good news is the slush and snow that was on top has turned into white ice adding an extra 6-8" to the 10-12" of black underneath. Even with ice scratchers the slides on my snowmobile wore down quite a bit. Classic Joe, in the opener the quads struggle with all the deep snow and or slush and the snowmobiles are laughing and by mid March the tables turn and with the glare ice the snowmobiles start wearing out slides while the ATVs have no problem getting around! Tight lines and good luck this weekend. Stay safe.

I was out on the 7th prior to the mild weather and was glare ice. The bite was pretty steady all day. I'll be getting out again on monday, should be locked up tight again after the -15 night.

The muskoka river is mostly broken up and mooving quick. I imagine it won't be long I seen a few sleds on A small lake Muskoka bay a few hours ago not meriting as safe where i checked it was about 8 to 10 inches mostly frozen slush a bit maybe 4 inches of clear underneath.
