Lake of Bays has open sections mainly over shoals but still 90 percent covered with soft darkening ice. Most lakes are opening up around shoreline and inflows. By the end of this week they should all be open with daytime temps in the low teens and not freezing at night all week. Can’t wait!

Just looked at the Sat pic. I looks like a few of the bigger lakes in H'burton are loosening up

Opeongo is the big white one. Not sure what it looks ready for. ? A slush walk?

Even if it were ice free, it could be a good idea to wait a couple weeks for the season to open.

algon ice out was declared a day or 2 ago---one of the earliest ever! not great news for those of us who must wait until May 17 before it opens. Trout will be down deep, I suspect.

Apr 10 - third earliest in last 50 yrs.

Harold, you’ll have to stay home I guess if you think the fish will be deep by then. I’ll go check for ya. 😎
