Got out for a couple hours this morning, solo trip up the road in the boat. Managed to obtain some food, and got plenty of exercise managing my cinder block anchor by myself. Went 1 for three... managed a nice one topside on 4lb line and a perch rod. Was jiggin a drop on 40fow. Fish were suspended and swimming through regularly. I definitely need a bigger net lol.

Nice work ! I couldn't buy a bite I trolled in 40 to 90 fow for a couple hours with Williams spoons at various depths and worked a jig with white tube. The cottagers woke up and started churning up the lake and my canoe so perhaps a nother calm morning .
Im glad to see that someone did better than me. Enjoy the food.

I definitely need a bigger net lol.

And stronger line maybe. I am impressed you managed this tank using 4lb line.

She peeled me back down to bottom at least 3 times when it saw the net.... had to adjust the drag in the fly multiple times.... it was a blast.

Nice catch. I do the same thing with ultralight gear in algonquin. It's a much more fun experience catching them like that rather than horsing them in with a heavy rod with 20 lb test.
