Folks - lots of us are spending more time outdoors hiking and fishing. Unfortunately, we regularly see the litter left by a few irresponsible people.
This weekend, please visit your favourite outdoor haunt; pick up one garbage bag of litter, especially along lakes and rivers. Let's each do a little to make our pieces paradise that much better.
And post a pic of you and your junk on this forum!

My wife and I were camping on Bottle Lake in Kawartha Highlands before permits were required, on May 24 weekend..... every point on the lake was occupied by at least 12 campers/party goers... the aftermath was disgusting... the next day everyone left with their crap littering every site.... my wife and I stopped on our way at at several campsites and filled 6 XL garbage bags with empties....our canoe was turned into a garbage barge.... got over 120$ returns.... image 12 people slamming a 24 and a bottle of jack each and leaving every single scrap of garbage behind.... animals.... no wonder they switched to permit based camping there, thank god.

I agree longshank, seems to be getting much much worse. To bad we cant have more CO's out there enforcing things and fining people. I'm gonna take my kids out tomorrow around our water front and collect some garbage.

Too bad a short video of litter violators along with a license plate number could be sent to our local CO would be enough for a conviction. We've all seen it happen and shake our heads. Where are cameras when you need them.

This must be mostly a crown land problem. I've never done crown camping, only backcountry provincial park camping, but I do go a few times a year. I've never had an issue going to a campsite and finding other people's trash. Maybe people respect it more if you pay for it? I don't know.

Where are cameras when you need them? Ans: They are on your cell phone! Would be nice if people took their garbage with them. I don't understand how it's easy to carry when it's full and hard to carry when it's empty???

We need an anti litter campaign like they had in the 70s. It really worked as those who threw garbage out their car window were looked down on. We have a property with a couple thousand feet of road frontage and every spring we pick up at least an XL garbage bag full along with a couple dozen empties. Empty cups and drink containers are most common.
