My son is 7 and loves fishing and he’s already started a bucket list...LOL... he asked if we could go out salmon fishing after watching some YouTube videos... My question is to better his odds what time in the summer would be better to book early, mid or late? Thanks for your help....Kevin G....

For me it's always on from April till end of October
You need to decide your preferred species first, then go from there
also, the spring fishing April untill end of June can produce the best numbers of chrome colored salmon and plenty of big guys as well and the equipment use is generally lighter, so much easier for a 7 year old
Once July to September fishery kicks in, ya, bigger fish, but darker and tactics change as they are deeper, so wire dipseys and wire board presentations and more use of flashers and flies or meat
also have to contend with the nasty spiny water flea from time to time
Fall sees staging salmon come back in shallow and readily available but also sees quite a bit of unstable weather from time to time
In the end, every month is good and has it's own unique style of species available
I have been at this for more than 24 years and can finish with this line....
If you have never chartered, Just do it. but you better book soon
be happy to take you out, but I don't know what side of the lake you want to try
