Time to experiment, It's a good thing

So, unfortunately my scheduled trip for today was cancelled due to very understandable reasons, but I was ready to go

after mulling it around for the morning I decided to go out solo and do some experimenting as I am a huge believer in continual learning

I went to a summer location that has produced in past years and was not dissapointed..

took several speed adjustments and then got the first hit...then went 5 for 7 in just under 3 hours........all bows

kept one for the bbq and popped the others off in the water as I didn't want to stress them more than I had to. nothing over 8 pounds and none under 5 or so.....was a blast although fishing in my boat solo kinda sucks as it's too much work

some of you may recall the post about alewives.......here's some proof, although this is a fraction of the numbers over a week ago

all bows came on custom made /doctored spoons

always check stomach contents

16 plus for sure

hope you enjoy and don't be afraid to try something extreme now and then when you have high forage base competition

Great report Shank, was out today and was skunked, fished from 6 am to 12 noon and didn't get a hit. Trolled everything from 80 to 200 fow, ran meat rigs spoons and body baits. Maybe next time.

next time, put away the body baits, run spoons and vary your speed....there was a good current out there today and i only got hits in 2 directions. fished from 10-1 pm

Thanks Shank. We tried almost all our spoons trying to figure out what might trigger a strike.

great report shank as always. i can't waite til i retire so i can get out more than once a month
