Spent 5 days in a cottage resort with family and friends in Muskoka (Huntsville area).
The weather was all over the place: rain, sun, winds, you name it, but we still were able to have a great time and enjoy it.
Did some fishing in between family time, riding the kids and friends on a boat and tube, playing poker, sitting by the fire and other typical cottage things.
Fished the lake for the first time. It has bass and pike in it. First day was fishing for about 6 hours in the morning , from which about 4 hours under fairly heavy rain. Managed quite a few bass and pike using senko and spinners.
Was surprised to find the water very stained with lots of brown (last years?) cabbage weeds in 8-10 FOW. The largies were in their usual spots: lily pads, reeds and other shallow weeds. Pike was in new green weeds in 7-9 FOW .
On the other days went a few times for smallies and largies and was able to catch a few.
All in all the fishing was not spectacular and you had to work real hard for them as they seemed to went into post-spawn funk.
But the time was well spent.
