Fished the Scugog event this past Sunday. Fishing was somewhat tough but I was able to figure out what I would call a pattern around 10am. I ran with it the rest of the day. Cashed a cheque with a 5th place finish. 5 largies weighing 17.48Lbs. My biggest was 4.6Lbs. I was fishing the event solo (no partner)
Flipped weed matts pretty much all day. I got zeroed in on a paticular area and depth. Found the small isolated mats produced better then the big ones. 1oz tungsten pegged to a 3/0 superline gamakatsu, Gambler burner craw in green pumpkin was what did all the damage.
https://www.shootoutfishingleague.com/ is running an excellent series in the Kawarthas. If you are looking for more tournament options these events are great fun. Low entry with a professional feel. Cory Banford and his staff do a fantastic job with a quick and efficient weigh in.

Nice job ! Especially fishing solo. Didn’t fish this one mainly cause I was away all week but should of fished it anyway. The lake has been stupid dirty too , none of my deep largemouth are going yet , at least for me . The smallies seem to be going pretty well .
