Early August fishing baits, what fishing techniques work

Coming up early august and what would be the favourite fishing baits/techniques, used normally at Owen Sound area. Does it change during the coarse of the day?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I have had success in past years with a variety of blue or green flutter spoons. I use Maxima Ultragreen 15 pound test on my main lines with several feet of Maxima fluorocarbon leader material (15 pounds as well) joined to the main line with a double uni-knot.
Early mornings and late evenings I make sure that at least two Lymans are part of the spread. At these times I drop my trolling speed down to a slow crawl.
For the past few years I have added several magnum Moonshine spoons to my go to lures. Charged up with a black light flashlight these spoons have exceptional glow in the dark capability and wobble freely throughout a large range of speeds.
I run sliders with smaller flutterspoons off all my rigger lines.
Water clarity can be an issue on Georgian Bay. I have caught salmon off flasher and fly or flasher and cut-bait but the spoons outproduce these combinations on a regular basis. I feel the crystal clear water tends to spook the salmon on occasion. I have had fair success when running just a herring strip on a glow holder (no flasher or Spin Doctor) but you really have to keep a close watch on the rod tips if running a clean strip. The salmon don't react violently when grabbing a clean cut bait unless they immediately run afoul of the siwash hook. A little lift or twitch of the loaded rod is all you'll usually see even with large salmon.
You'll likely develop a list of favourite lures in short order. Be patient once this happens for you. Set the lures and leave them in the water. Adjusting depth occasionally and playing with your trolling speed can prove beneficial but leave your lures in the water. Many anglers spend an inordinate amount of time replacing lures and baits. Trust your go to lures and you'll have more fish in the box at the end of your outing.

I have fished G bag a few times and caught some Kings.

I use all power pro for main line so I use leaders on everything. I have caught fish on dipsey divers with 20 and 40 lb floro leaders. I have had takes off the down rigger running both long leads and super short 3’ leads. Sometimes the fish are shy and sometimes they want a quick whip and short lead.

When i have caught fish on flies it was a super short lead behind a flasher going 3 mph.

The 2 things I want to point out about moonshine lures is that

1. they are or can be a killer lure

2. maybe it's my age but I hate the fact that once out of the package, there is no stamp on the lure indicating what the actual color is. you will not see it until you light it up and this has confused me a few times over the years....some I have memorized, others not

Thanks for the advice sounds very solid. One last question would a flasher in front of a spoon add anything to the attraction of the setup.

Sometimes a flasher works sometimes its to much, depends on the mood. I run hotspot agitators with spoons sometimes, adds more flash but doesn't change the action of the spoons. You can also attach them to your cannon ball instead of on your line.

Had an instance on lake O last year. Washed dozens of spoons and could t touch a fish. Put a flasher in front of a spoon and whamo fish on.

Change one rod at a time to flasher spoon combo and every rod started to fire.

That day the boards in front of the spoon were key with a short lead between them.
