Got my boat from service Friday afternoon and wanted to try it out right away . Fished for about 3.5-4 hours and had some luck with walters .
Met some guys on the launch coming back who said that they limited out on walleye from morning till 3 pm so we exchanged some information and they gave me a few pointers but to the spots which I also knew .
Got 2 nice ones and lost two before 7 pm in weeds in 9-10 FOW on spinner rig and jig.
Then strong and cold NW wind turned on and the bite was shut off.
I normally like August much better than July for walleye as they are more predictable and operate in established summer pattern.
Anyone else having luck in the weeds for eyes or you guys getting them deeper ?

Boat fixed... out fishing...catching fish...great day. Can't ask for more than that. Nice fish JB. I am going back to work next week. Took that time off since June 7th to take care of my better half. She is doing much better and can do most everything on her own now. She still has a few more tests but that is the way that goes. So we will be at the family's in September. I will catch a ton of fish on Balsam and Sturgeon to catch up to their appetites. Well I better, there is no fish in the freezer from spring. Keep those great pictures coming JB. I can't wait to see some walleye and big crappie for real. Stay safe.

Thanks , man , and it’s great to know that your better half is recovering . I know it’s a slow process but looks like all is going in the right direction . Hopefully you get back to fishing soon and we all can enjoy reading your reports

Thank you...this is the longest I have been away from the water in my life. But it puts things into perspective. Fishing is just something I do. It is not everything. She is everything. I will have some reports in September. Good luck to all...fall fishing is almost here.

Nice bass This morning was very chilly with strong NW winds. Some friends who went out fishing today had limited luck.

Well said Same for me. Fishing is a big part of my life but family is more important.
Love September fishing but the problem is to decide which fish to target as night casting for salmon takes a chunk of my time during this period, but I want to spend more time fishing for walleye, bass and musky this September..

Great job JB some nice walleye there. So far mine have come slow trolling 14 to 16 ft along weed edges. Got a 20” last Sunday up shallower off a weed bed on a minnow. Keep up the nice work and thanks for the post

Nice chunky walleye.. Well done and glad the boat is fixed..
No shallow weed walleye for me at all, although I don't fish past 6 pm, as I avoid driving home in the dark, with a boat in tow..
Was out yesterday as well, and yup... Fishing was slow.. 4 bass and 2 pike is all I could muster after a full day of casting.... will put up a report shortly..
