So, I try to get out early when I can...6-7am...I catch fish early , but my biggest often come between 11am and noon. Curious to know if others experience this. My 3 best walleye this year have been at noon, my best LMB last year was around noon on a top water bait and best SMB are late morning...thoughts? I've stopped getting up early lately...

Caught many decent fish midday but I prefer afternoon fishing till sunset and also rarely do I fish early mornings .
It also depends on the fish species you are after . Bass and walleye in sumner - yes, they can bite any time . Pike - early mornings are better when the water cools a bit overnight . Etc.....,

I prefer the night. Less people...boats...sunburn etc. That is for three kinds of fish...walleye...crappie...and small mouth bass. Also nobody calls me after 11pm to bug me.

Largest walleye have been trolling at night, never caught a Muskie after dark.

When on vacation, it’s rare for me to get up early. I prefer mid aft to just before dark. However, if your fishing time is when your on vacation, then you get out whenever you can.

The biggest bass I've ever seen was caught in the first 15 minutes of a fishing trip around 6am. Anytime between 5am and 9pm for me. Do I catch the biggest bass because the sun is up? or do i catch the biggest bass because the sun is up and I think they will be tight to cover and repeatedly flip a jig in a laydown instead of throwing a senko down the bank? Did you catch your biggest bass of the day because the sun was up or maybe it was because you were throwing a spook or frog which typically gets better than average fish. Way too many variables if you value your sleep more than fishing I would suggest sleeping in, if not the last 2 tournaments I've fished this year the biggest bass of the day have been first bass of the day.

IMO - feeding windows change by time of year and based on weather conditions.

Best fish of the day today...3lb SMB...1230 pm as I was about to go in and had passed over this spot I like once earlier. I wish I could think like a fish.
