Managed to get out in my kayak this morning - had to be off the water by noon so I was hoping for a productive morning.

It was an eventful morning. Launched around sun up - but couldn’t really tell as it was rediculously foggy/hazy - I thought it would clear off pretty quick, but it took a very long time to do so. Hugged shore until it did clear off - pic below at 8:20am in full sun.

Wished I had a go pro for this morning might have caught some fun times.
Fish seemed to be very aggressive this morning. Right after launching I managed to catch 4 smallies on a whopper plopper - so much fun watching them explode on the plopper. Up until about 10 am the fish were hammering pretty much everything I was throwing. Mostly smallies, with a few largies thrown in.
Had a funny (to me) moment later in the morning. Hooked into a smallie and fought it for a few minutes and it came up to jump, launched itself straight up and landed right at my feet in the kayak. Surprised both of us.

Went 1 for 2 on muskie - the one that got away was the better fish - high 30s and thick. It still managed launch into two acrobatic flips right in front of my kayak, but came off shortly after. The second was low 30s. Unfortunately, when I got it to my net it decided to spin a few times and I had to cut my line and untangle it. Fish swam away strong, but no pics.

Beauty, bass techniques on those muskies or targetting them specifically?

Bass techniques all day - swim baits on both muskie.

I meant to mention the largie pictured looked like it might have been bitten by a large fish - similar marks on both sides.

Nice fish...yes that was quite the fog. I fished Friday and Saturday night all night and the fog was so thick you could only here the fish splashing you could not see the fish until it was time to grab the net. I am going to post my progress so far... later.

Great fishing and great report! Thanks for sharing!

Love fishing whopper plopper for bass. The surface strikes are always sudden and memorable, always fun.
