Well I never. Seen so many hawks at one time. I took over 30min to pass me by. they just kept circling and moving to the west past me. I think they are red tail but could be wrong. Here a picture it not great but can see the number at the time of the picture.

Red tail hawks have light feathering under the wings, these all look pretty dark.
Its most likely migrating turkey vultures.

100% not turkey buzzard's. If not red tail some other type of hawk

The migration is on full swing. I’d agree with it not being vultures. Probably a mixed bag of hawks.
Nice keen eye to see these migrants sabmgb. These birds are up there. You just gotta be looking.
Thanks for sharing

there wasn't a lot of other birds flying around at the time, the smaller birds were all grounded. Chevy you seem to be the bird guru on here, so hawks migrate, i did not know this. Where would they be going? I have seen hundreds of turkey buzzard's flock up in October while hunting ducks at Rondeau. They wait until there is the right wind I believe then off they go across the lake. I don't know where they go either.

I’m actually not sure where they migrate to. I just know they do. It a great time to watch raptors for sure.

How about a murder of crows.

Definitely not a squawk of ducks or a honk of geese

Well I guess I have been walking around all my life with my eyes closed. I have seen hundreds of hawks now 3 different days and heard that there is a hawk festival 40k away where people go to watch the migration.
