Now that Simcoe laker and whitefish are closed for the season, I headed up north this morning. It was raining all day. I was expecting a whitefish, but instead landed a smallmouth bass on a vibrato after a wild chase!:-)

Good rain gear is all you need! I was finding the whitefish suspended 20ft down over 45-70fow…. Consistently. Jig right under the boat. Nice bass though! Try some small spoons.
