Fished from 2pm till sunset. Did ok in terms of numbers, caught around 20, but almost all were too small, kept 5. Found them between 14 and 20 feet. Water 13-14C.

I would say those are going to taste great. Good job. I am out fishing right now but taking a break the fish are not cooperating at all. So far just a couple very small walleye. Glad you got lucky today. Oh ya it is freezing out here.

20 crappies ? That’s an excellent haul , RM! Congrats !
The most important you figured them out, had fun catching them and had some good ones for a frying pan.

It’s cold but not too windy right now in the am .
Going perch fishing on buddies boat to Simcoe now

Thank you guys.

Yes, fewer to clean.

If your recall my first crappie posted in spring yesterday I caught a few much smaller. Looks like the mood yesterday was the smaller the hungrier.

Today after a long break i decided to go to Scugog. Did not have much luck in summer when i came there and found that green-white water. The water is the same today. I cannot see lures a foot down. Looks like it is like that all the way down. Tried deep areas, but supposedly perch or crappie marks did not react to my lures at all. That water looks toxic to me.

One bay had better water and there I had a nice perch on the line, but lost at the boat. Did not set the hook thinking it was weeds. Also was able to see schools of tiny perch there.
