Well today was a classic, I had my son out for a quick morning hunt and he was not disappointed. We walked out in the dark at 5am, set up his doe decoy and settled into complete darkness. As daybreak came I noticed a coyote out 70 yards ready to take on the decoy, I tapped my sons leg and got his attention and reached for my phone, to late for any video a pack of 4 coyotes attacked the decoy, it was like 15 yards from us, the poor decoy got nailed and as soon as they hammered it they ran off. LMAO. So now were in prime buck time and they took down the decoy and it's laying dead. We decided to leave it be as getting out the zippers and sneaking over to revive it was to risky. Well wouldn't you know 7 minutes later along comes a single deer out about 250 yards as we watch it slowly comes toward us and it's looking right at the dead decoy. It's now about 120 out and we id it as a young buck and then it turns right and hops the fence slowly walking away. What will tomorrow bring? This is what I love about the hunt, you just never know. Three crappy photos to follow. The Coyotes, The deceased decoy, and the young buck.
