So this was my last day of fall fishing. My better half is having an operation to help her heart and four weeks of recovery time. It was beautiful all day so I fished for bass and crappie. All small fish today and only 2 fish per hour. Some bass then some crappie. But a half dozen times or so there was a flash in the water. I thought it was a big bass chasing my bait. It was getting dark and fish seemed to be gone. I switched to a bigger lure and casted very slow for about an hour. Nothing...no bites...then a muskie tried to pull me in the lake...he did not succeed. It was a great fight in the dark. Muskie was 44.8 inches.

Swimming away back to the bottom. It will be back next year to catch again. If my friend was there and had caught it...it would be soup by now. I do not eat muskie.

Caught the muskie on this again. No more bass or crappie after churning up all that water. Now I have my fingers crossed for an early crappie spring. Might go ice fishing in January...we will see. STAY SAFE ALL.

44.8" Muskie is a great ending to any season. Well done! Thanks for all your reports.
Take care of your better half. Wish her a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. You pulled many of us to the dark side. Let's see if we can pull you on ice. You can still fish all night and we know you like bad and cold weather.

All of you are very kind with your comments, thank you again. As for ice fishing... I do ice fish, just not much in the past. Not much time in the winter, but when I retire in 2.25 years I will be guiding people to the fish in the winter as well as the other three seasons. But again having mentioned this before, the business will only be on Balsam and Sturgeon. These are my two favourite places to fish anywhere. A close second was fishing at my grandfathers in New Brunswick. And my third favourite spot to fish is anywhere I have fished before. LOL.... STAY SAFE OUT THERE ALL.
