Maybe it is due to Covid, but there seems to be more clueless people on the loose than ever before. We are campers and there were plenty at Killbear when we went. One very kind guy came by and asked if he could 'borrow' some of the fire starter I had for the BBQ. He returned it sometime later with hardly a small left in the can. He didn't hang aroulnd long enough for me to thank him
Mostly city slickers 'being one with nature' after they found out they couldn't travel to their 5-star hotel in Bora Bora because of restrictions lol.

There is no mention about PCL's issued prior to 2011, so, I take from that, that mine issued in 2006 is valid as long as I own the boat.

Ok, I like this information. This must be why I have never heard of such nonsense or received any renewal notifications. Because I’ve had the boat since 2010, guess I’m good to go.

You are ok for another 6 years. Transport Canada had the consultation period for their new proposed 5 year PCL. They pretended like they cared what anybody had to say. Looks like they are bringing in the 5 year PCL licenses starting in fall 2022, at which time the currently lifetime PCL licenses will go into a 5 year program, as in, the lifetime PCL licenses will expire in 2027.

Good one reelinginthebigone, Friday Harbour on a warm summer day (with just a touch of wind) sounds like a hoot. I'll bet the fibreglass & gel-coat fixers are line up too.
