6 plus inches of good solid ice today from X. Guy was dragging out his permanent hut with a four wheeler as I walked off. I'll be out tomorrow for sure.

Lower Chemong had a small patch of open ice 100 yards off of the causeway. Other than that it looks like the ice is forming nicely. Someone cracked a spud off the launch about 50 feet and it was fairly thin as of 01/03/2022 12p.m. But cold nights are on the way. #fishywishy

Please refrain from posting specific access points in the open forum. It is against the rules and will lead to closures of such access points due to increased pressure.
Fishing reports and general areas referenced, ie "South end of Lake Chemong" are fine, but specific locations are not allowed.

My apologies on that. Figured that the fishing area isn't really a secret as the population of the permanent fishing hut cluster exceeds that of a small city in high season lol.

First day out!
Love the idea of the Snowdog! Where is the closest dealer for them? And any ballpark $$. Thanks, good luck.
Closest is Cycle Salvage outside of Peterborough. Mine was the second last one they had as of mid December. They were expecting more in late January early February.
Give them a ring, very knowledgeable on that kind of stuff and pricing.

I use that access point "X" every year (esp. early and late ice), but have never seen one of those dawgs out there...was this a new toy you got? I am assuming that you fish out of X quite often as well. Will look out for it if I get a chance to fish there this year. Is the hut city already set up in the usual spots? The bigger question....how was the fishing?

Just purchased the snowdog in December. This will be my fourth year fishing this area on Chemong.
I saw the Husky but opted for the Snowdog instead.

Hey hey KRASHED, I seen one of those snow dogs last year, those things are awesome congrats on the sweet ride. I tried to pm you but not allowed for some reason? I had a couple of questions regarding ice. I am just outside of Oshawa and jonesing to hit the hard water. Not looking for an exact location but if you could PM me and let me know an area that I can at least get on the ice that would be amazing.

Sounds like your in the south south end, but be careful if you venture near the causeway. There’s still a big section of open water south of the causeway (about 100-200m from the road) right In the middle. Still some spots open to the north as well. I’d imagine ice thickness varies greatly right now. I’m going to walk to the middle today and see how thick it is.
