The average laker I was catching on Simcoe during hard water season was about 12 lbs. Caught a twenty-pounder too (video in signature.) I think you are in luck with big fish in the winter hard water season.

Remember to catch and release so we someone else can have the same joy when they get even bigger That 20 lber was released and is probably 21 lbs now.
